Gray walls stretch into the distance about an hour’s drive from the center of Shenyang in northeast China. Behind the barriers is Plant Lydia, a 15 billion yuan ($2.24 billion) factory built by BMW Brilliance, a joint venture between BMW and Brilliance China Automotive Holdings.

Missed chance. Anyone surprised?

During his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping Monday at the G-20, rather than discuss the origins of COVID-19 or fentanyl coming from China, Biden opted to restart dialogue on climate change instead. China is purposely producing fentanyl to kill Americans. China currently consumes more than half the world’s coal, and has by far the largest amount of proposed coal capacity, with nearly 97 gigawatts under construction and another 163 gigawatts in planning – on top of China’s existing 1,100 gigawatts*.

*A gigawatt is 1,000,000,000 watts. That is enough power for for 34,000 average American homes for 1 day.

Voters in New York City easily approved a ballot measure which requires the city to establish a cost of living metric that will “provide a clearer picture of the racial wealth gap” in New York City, which will “guide the City’s decisions as it develops and administers programs and services.” Also passing approved the amendment of the city charter to establish an Office of Racial Equity that will be headed by a chief equity officer. The newly created office will be tasked with a racial-equity commission that will guide the city’s racial justice priorities and require all city agencies to produce a racial-equity plan every two years.
